First pages

I suppose its a good way to start documenting our life on National Scrapbooking Day. I thought that I wasnt going to go to any events at all. I decided to start collecting old photos of the boys and Don even though I wasnt in their life back when the boys are still little and that we've only been together for 2 years. I want to document our wonderful life, and how its such a great feeling to see these old photos. Margaret was the first person I know who actually does the craft and at first I was skeptical about it since my specialty lies to the needlework - card-making was going to be something Id try and after a few weeks I went to work and decided.. I AM GOING TO SCRAPBOOK - I AM GOING TO BE A "SCRAPPER". From there, went to the library right after work and borrowed all of the scrapbooking they have on the shelf, and even requested tons of other books from the other libraries in the city. I have 43 something books about scrapbooking... and Ive only been looking for ideas and techniques. Im really happy I went to the parties this weekend. I met Robin who sells Creative Memories and then Stephanie who is also a consultant for the same company. I was very impressed on how my weekend flew by and I felt like I did something for myself. With the whole weekend.. Ive only managed to finish 3 pages..... I hope that soon I can do 88 pages in one weekend - Like Rachel did (one of the girls from the party. Looking at their pages inspire me to be even more creative. These are the first pages I've ever made.... I hope that I can hone and be better.......

ADMIT ONE

Tyler just turned 17 yesterday, and as part of his birthday celebrations we decided to throw him a party here at the house. I designed this invitation since he's all about Rock N' Roll and concerts. I figured its appropriate for his age- not so childish and would definitely get his friends to come and celebrate the day with him. I'm also in the process of designing a banner with it, but I must run to the store since Ive ran out of black cardstock and would probably be able to do that tomorrow afternoon. Great thing that Im not cooking for the day and we're getting it catered Southern style. Perhaps tomorrow, I'll post the card I gave him Tuesday... but for now here's a preview of his invite. I forgot to take a picture of the back.. It has a white cardstock pasted on it with a sign that says "YOU"RE INVITED" on the top on funky colored paper and the info of the invite printed on the white paper. Its my very first "BIG" project with my cricut, and let me just say.. I've learned a lot with just doing 45 somethininvitations - all by hand..... lesson learned - I must now invest of either SCAL or a Gypsy.

starting a new craft

I've never really been crafty.... However, in the past few months, I've picked up a needle and started cross-stitching again --- then now card-making. I want to share with everyone the failures and successes of my craft(s) - some unfinished but nonetheless given with so much time, love and care.
